About Me
A little about me and my hobbies!
My name is Siddharth, a senior studying Computer Engineering at University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. I love the usual things like traveling, watching TV shows and weightlifting, but I love to learn and experiment as well. I am a avid HomeLabber who is constantly looking to explore new technologies and applications.
I'm a strong advocate for hands-on learning. I believe the most effective way to truly understand something is through direct experience, constantly experimenting, breaking things, and then fixing them.
To that end, my home lab serves as my testing ground. I deploy enterprise-grade equipment from vendors such as Cisco, HPE, Dell, and Arista, while simultaneously experimenting with automation, networking, and DevOps tools.
Some of my personal favorite technologies to work with are Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible. I recently started getting more and more into data monitoring and visualizations, so Grafana and Prometheus have quickly risen to the top of my list as well.
I'm a passionate supporter and active contributor to Free and Open Source (FOSS) projects. I love dedicating my free time to contributing to them whenever my skills align with their needs. Below are some of my favourite Self-Hosted projects that I either contribute to, or just enjoy using! In addition to all of these, this website is an example of my love for self-hosting, it is completley self hosted using Kubernetes for runtime infrastructure, and Ghost as a framework!
